Lindsey Wiley, a 32-year-old mom from Delaware, always dreamed of having a daughter. As the proud mother of three energetic boys—ages 5, 3, and 18 months—she cherished her role as a “boy mom,” filled with love, laughter, and chaos. But deep down, she held onto the hope of one day welcoming a little girl into their family.
She and her husband had always envisioned a large family and agreed to try for a fourth child—one last shot at having a daughter. What they didn’t expect, however, was to be surprised with not one, but three more babies.
In an interview with Newsweek, Wiley revealed that during an early ultrasound, she was stunned to learn she was pregnant with natural, spontaneous triplets, due this fall.
“I felt immediate shock and fear, honestly,” Wiley admitted. “I still have three little ones at home who need me every day. Thinking about how we’d handle it all really made me spiral.”
Despite the overwhelming news, the couple embraced the adventure ahead. And to their joy, one of the triplets is a girl—a dream come true for Wiley.
“I come from a family of only girls, so I always told my husband I wanted him to experience that special father-daughter bond,” she said. “I love raising boys, but I wanted to know what it’s like to do ‘girl’ things, too—and to watch that unique brother-sister dynamic grow.”
The couple, who share their journey on Instagram and TikTok under the handle @wileypartyof8, shared the gender reveal in a playful viral post. Using a popular TikTok trend, Wiley joked that she “told her husband she wanted to try for a girl,” then revealed the trio of balloons—two blue, one pink. The post exploded online, racking up over 4.1 million views on Instagram and 5 million on TikTok.
“My jaw drops every time I see the numbers,” Wiley said. “It was just meant to be a fun little video. Sure, there’ve been a few negative comments, but there’s also been so much support from other moms who’ve been through similar situations.”
While juggling six kids will be no small feat, Wiley is leaning on her support system—including her husband, who she describes as “her rock,” and her extended family who live nearby.
“My older boys are so excited and can’t wait to be big helpers,” she added. “It’s going to be wild and definitely an adventure, but I’ve learned from experience—nothing lasts forever, and every phase is worth it.”
The family is now preparing for life as a party of eight, and their story continues to capture the hearts of parents everywhere.
