A Florida woman will spend the rest of her life behind bars after brutally stabbing both of her parents — killing her father and nearly killing her mother — because they asked her to move out of their home.
Christina Anne Adams, 33, was sentenced this week to two consecutive life sentences for the horrific attack that left her father, 63-year-old Richard Langer, dead and her mother, Sally Langer, severely wounded.
The motive? She was angry after being told to pack her bags and leave.
“This case reminds us of the unspeakable violence that can erupt even within a family,” said Chief Assistant State Attorney Walter Forgie. “Today, justice was served, but the scars remain.”
According to authorities, the nightmare unfolded on September 16, 2022, in Ocala, Florida. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were called to the home after a frantic 911 call reported a stabbing. When they arrived, they found both parents stabbed multiple times inside the house.
Even in his final moments, Richard Langer managed to tell deputies that his own daughter had attacked them — a chilling accusation that ultimately helped seal her fate.
Adams fled the scene and was caught during a traffic stop, accompanied by her unsuspecting wife. Prosecutors said the wife was unaware of the carnage and had no idea what had just occurred.
In her confession, Adams admitted everything: she was furious after her parents asked her to move out, grabbed a large kitchen knife, and launched into a brutal attack. After she believed both victims were dead, she tried to destroy evidence, changed her clothes — and unbelievably — went shopping as if nothing had happened.
Though Adams initially gave a misleading account of her actions, detectives quickly unraveled the truth. Her mother survived the attack, but her father tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities say the attack was cold, calculated, and entirely unprovoked. Now, Christina Anne Adams will live out her days in a Florida prison, haunted by what she did — and unable to harm anyone else ever again.
