In 2017, Donald Trump shocked the political world by taking the oath of office instead of Hillary Clinton, the woman many assumed was destined to be president. Now, in 2025, he’s replacing her again—but this time in a far more symbolic fashion.
Not only has Trump returned to the Oval Office, he’s also quietly erasing Hillary’s presence from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue—one framed portrait at a time.
According to The Independent, a well-known painting of Trump—“Free America. Trump” by artist Maya Langelo—is now hanging in the White House. The image, which also happens to be Trump’s profile picture on Truth Social, has been placed in a spot once occupied by a portrait of Hillary Clinton.
The painting, which sells for $5,000 online, was initially hung alongside Hillary’s image, serving as a subtle visual contrast—if not outright provocation. But following a round of what can only be described as White House “spring cleaning,” the Clinton portrait has reportedly been taken down, with Trump’s now taking center stage.
Reuters reporter Jeff Mason confirmed the shift in a post on X (formerly Twitter), and not surprisingly, the change ignited outrage among the usual anti-Trump corners of the internet.
Users vented with the expected barrage of ad hominem attacks—calling Trump everything from “petty” to “trailer trash”—the same kind of rhetoric that’s failed to stop him in two elections now.
And yet, despite their outrage, the reality is simple: Trump is back, and so is his unmistakable presence—both politically and artistically.
It’s not about erasing history, as critics might claim. It’s about setting the record straight. No one’s scrubbing away every legacy—just the one tied to Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose political career has long been marked by entitlement, miscalculation, and controversy.
Let’s not forget, Hillary treated the 2016 election like a coronation—until Trump handed her a brutal wake-up call on November 8. And her record before that? Let’s just say her “accomplishments” ranged from selling off uranium to Russia, to helping launch the Russiagate smear, to enabling her husband’s misdeeds while calling his accusers “bimbos.”
So, when a bold, patriotic portrait of Donald Trump takes the place of Hillary’s carefully curated image, it’s not just artistic preference. It’s a message.
And that message is loud and clear: We’re done pretending she ever ran the show. Now, the walls of the White House reflect who actually did.
