Sleeping dad killed by wife – their children called 911, here’s what they said to…

Authorities say the couple’s children dialed 911 after hearing a gunshot in the home. When officers arrived at the residence, they found Watson dead in bed, Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum confirmed to outlets including AL.com, WDHN, and WTVY.

The alleged shooter, 42-year-old Annie Huffstutler, was arrested shortly after 6 a.m. and charged with murder. She is currently being held without bond at the Dale County Jail, according to public records reviewed by PEOPLE.

The shooting reportedly took place around 2 a.m., while Watson was asleep. Sheriff Bynum told WTVY that although five children were inside the home at the time, none of them directly witnessed the incident. However, they did hear the shot and contacted emergency services immediately afterward.

“This is a tragic event for this family and for all those affected by such a senseless act,” Bynum told AL.com. “Our prayers and full support are with them as they begin the difficult journey of healing and navigating life after this heartbreaking loss.”
