Lightning strikes four men standing under tree in a Gurgaon park, all fall to the ground

Emergency services were called immediately, and paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes. The four men were quickly assessed, and though visibly shaken and suffering from minor burns and symptoms associated with electrical shock, they remained conscious and responsive. They were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.

Hospital officials later confirmed that all four individuals were in stable condition. Though two of the men had experienced mild disorientation and one sustained superficial burns on his arm, doctors expressed confidence in their full recovery. “They were extremely lucky,” a hospital spokesperson said. “Lightning strikes can cause severe internal injuries, cardiac arrest, and even death. The fact that all four survived with relatively minor injuries is remarkable.”

Meteorologists have since reiterated warnings about the dangers of taking shelter under trees during electrical storms. Trees, while seemingly offering protection from rain, can act as natural conductors for lightning, directing the electrical current into the ground — and, tragically, into anyone standing nearby.

“This incident serves as a sobering reminder of nature’s unpredictability,” said a spokesperson from the local weather bureau. “Thunderstorms can develop rapidly, and lightning doesn’t always strike in the most expected places. If you’re caught outside during a storm, the safest option is to seek shelter in a fully enclosed building or a metal-topped vehicle. Avoid open fields, tall isolated trees, and bodies of water.”

Community members have expressed relief over the positive outcome and praised the swift actions of emergency personnel. Local authorities plan to increase public education efforts on storm safety, especially as the region enters its peak season for thunderstorms.

For the four men involved, what started as a casual walk during a rainy afternoon turned into a harrowing encounter with one of nature’s most powerful forces — and, fortunately, a story of survival.
