While most brides are agonizing over seating charts and final dress fittings in the frantic days leading up to their wedding, Lainey Wilson and Devlin “Duck” Hodges were operating on a completely different wavelength. In fact, if you asked them about their dress code, they had exactly one rule for their guests: just show up.
“Honestly, we were the ones that were a little less stressed,” Wilson said, flashing her signature smile. Holding court on the red carpet at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, the newlywed country superstar let it slip that when it came to guest attire, she and Hodges threw the rulebook entirely out the window. “Everybody else was worried about what they were going to wear to the wedding. We were like, ‘You can wear your birthday suit. We don’t give a damn.'”
Hodges, the 30-year-old former NFL quarterback turned real estate agent, stood right by her side, nodding in agreement. “We were the least stressed, probably,” he added with a laugh.
A Nashville Family Affair in Dickson
The couple officially tied the knot on May 10 in the quiet, scenic town of Dickson, Tennessee. But while the vibe was distinctly low-maintenance, the guest list was pure country royalty.
Surrounded by close family and friends, the crowd also featured a heavy hitting lineup of Nashville’s finest. Country icons and rising stars alike—including Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Lauren Alaina, Jelly Roll, and Ella Langley—all gathered to watch the couple say “I do.”
Reflecting on the big day just over a week later, the 33-year-old “4x4xU” singer was still visibly glowing. “It was everything that we could have imagined, to be honest,” Wilson shared. “It was perfect. It was beautiful.”
From Sedona to Sin City: Life on the Fast Track
To say it has been a whirlwind month for Wilson would be a massive understatement. Fresh off headlining the massive Stagecoach Festival in April, she pivoted straight into wedding mode. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds managed to steal away for a few days of quiet romance in the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona.
But the honeymoon phase had to move fast. By May 17, the couple had already touched down in Las Vegas for the ACMs, capping off a beautifully chaotic week.
Navigating the dizzying heights of superstardom while trying to enjoy life as a newlywed isn’t easy, but Wilson credits her new husband with keeping her boots firmly on the ground.
“Honestly, I feel like that’s the thing: getting me through it is having somebody to lean on and call home, and it’s been nice,” Wilson said warmly. “I mean, he’s my person. So I’m so glad that we’re getting to experience this together, because this is all I’ve ever dreamed about, and I’m glad that I got my guy with me to go along the journey.”

No Signs of Slowing Down
If you think a wedding and a honeymoon mean Wilson is ready to take a breather, think again. The country powerhouse is keeping her foot firmly on the gas pedal, teasing that her new marriage is only fueling her creative fire.
“We got a bunch of stuff cooking up right now, and it’s good,” she teased. “As long as I got my phone, my keys, my wallet, my man, I feel like those are the things that keep me writing and we got something up our sleeve.”
Fans will have plenty of chances to see that inspiration in action. The rest of Wilson’s packed 2026 calendar features a grueling itinerary, including dates for her own highly anticipated Whirlwind World Tour, as well as a coveted slot joining Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show tour.
The star-studded 2026 ACM Awards streamed live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. For fans who missed the live action—or just want to catch another glimpse of the happy newlyweds—the full broadcast is available to stream on Prime Video.
