Ghislaine Maxwell’s family breaks silence with bombshell claim after Trump closes Jeffrey Epstein case

The family of Ghislaine Maxwell has broken its silence in a bold and coordinated effort to challenge the U.S. justice system, arguing that Maxwell was scapegoated for the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and unfairly imprisoned in what they call a “politically charged” prosecution.

Their statement arrives at a moment of escalating pressure on President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi, who now face growing outrage from MAGA loyalists for what critics see as a botched and sanitized Epstein investigation.

Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence on sex trafficking charges, was convicted in 2021—two years after Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial on child sex abuse offenses.

Since then, speculation about the existence of an alleged “Epstein client list” has dominated conspiracy circles and social media, especially among Trump’s base.

“Our Sister Did Not Get a Fair Trial”
In a newly released family statement, the Maxwells assert that their sister Ghislaine never received a fair trial, accusing federal prosecutors of misconduct and claiming that her conviction was driven more by the public’s thirst for revenge than by hard evidence.

“The government needed someone to take the fall after Epstein’s death,” the statement reads. “They chose Ghislaine.”

According to her legal team, Maxwell intends to file a writ of habeas corpus, which would challenge her imprisonment based on what her lawyers describe as “new evidence,” including allegations of government overreach and a violation of a prior non-prosecution agreement made with Epstein in 2007.
