The most jarring link? In 1995, the year Jodi disappeared, Revak’s ex-wife “Jennifer” was living in the same building as Jodi’s close friend and person of interest, John Vansice—a man long rumored to have known more than he admitted.
“That’s one of the biggest coincidences in this case,” said Sgt. Terrance Prochaska of Mason City PD in the documentary. “Unless… it’s not a coincidence.”
Jennifer claims Revak never visited her in Mason City. But police suspect otherwise: that Revak may have traveled there looking for her—and unknowingly began surveilling the building. The very building where Jodi had visited Vansice the night before she disappeared.
A Chilling Pattern
Revak’s known victim, Rene Williams, was never found. Just like Jodi.
Police say Revak had a pattern: he targeted women he’d just met, late at night, often in parking lots. Sound familiar?
And the window of time matches. Revak was known to be in Wisconsin on June 17 and again on July 9. Jodi vanished on June 27. What was he doing during that missing 22-day period?
“I’ve been in law enforcement for 32 years,” said Sheriff Chris Degase, who investigated the Williams murder. “I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe Revak killed Jodi.”
The Other Man: John Vansice
Still, Revak isn’t the only shadow looming over the case.
John Vansice, 22 years Jodi’s senior, was one of the last people to see her alive. He often took her out on his boat—christened “The Jodi”—and claimed she came to his apartment the night before she vanished.
But his behavior raised eyebrows.
The morning Jodi went missing, Vansice called the station asking where she was—before anyone publicly knew she was gone. Then, when police arrived at her apartment, Vansice showed up and reportedly said, “Jodi’s gone”, before it had been confirmed.
“He did all the things the perpetrator of a crime would do,” said Amy Johnson, a fellow anchor.
He passed a polygraph—or claimed he did—but abruptly stopped cooperating with police. He moved to Arizona and died in December 2024, still proclaiming innocence.
A Van, a Surrogate, and a Possible Second Suspect
Just when the trail seemed to cool, a new figure emerged: Brad Millerbernd, the ex-husband of Jodi’s close friend.
In a bombshell reveal, Millerbernd admitted to investigators he once took Jodi out to dinner and picked her up in his white Ford van—the same type of vehicle seen outside her apartment the morning of the abduction.
Millerbernd was never charged and denies wrongdoing. But property records, vehicle matches, and even eyewitness descriptions have put him under renewed scrutiny.
Still Searching for Justice
Today, the case remains officially unsolved. But thanks to Her Last Broadcast, a spotlight is once again shining on the players who may hold the answers—and a dead man who may have taken the truth to his grave.
With DNA, polygraphs, and digital reconstructions underway, investigators are racing to connect the final dots.
“She deserves the truth,” said Sgt. Prochaska. “And we’re not done looking.”
