Nearly 30 years after beloved Iowa news anchor Jodi Huisentruit vanished without a trace, investigators are digging into a chilling new lead—one that connects a suspected serial killer, a mysterious neighbor, and an eerie string of coincidences that might finally crack one of America’s most haunting cold cases.
On the morning of June 27, 1995, 27-year-old Huisentruit was supposed to anchor the early morning news at KIMT-TV in Mason City. She never made it. Somewhere between her apartment and her car, she vanished. Her keys, hairdryer, and red high heels were found scattered in the parking lot.

The Serial Killer Connection
Revak was first connected to the case in 2009, after being charged in the 2007 abduction and murder of Rene Marie Williams in Missouri. He was also a suspect in the 2006 killing of Deidre Harm in Wisconsin. Before he could stand trial, Revak died by suicide in jail.
Since then, detectives have quietly explored whether Revak left a trail of victims, including Huisentruit. He has been tentatively linked to at least five unsolved homicides, with striking similarities in each: young women abducted at night, parking lots, Midwestern towns.
