Burrell, 55, was found dead at her Brooklyn home on the morning of Tuesday, June 17. Her passing has left fans, colleagues, and loved ones reeling, and details released by the New York Police Department (NYPD) now shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to a statement obtained by People magazine, officers from the NYPD’s 76th Precinct responded to a call at approximately 7:50 a.m., where they discovered “an unconscious and unresponsive 55-year-old female” at a Brooklyn residence. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. While the NYPD did not immediately release Burrell’s identity, citing ongoing efforts to notify next of kin, the address provided matched that of the Worst Cooks in America star.
