Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has removed senior adviser Justin Fulcher in the latest wave of high-level departures rocking the Pentagon.
Fulcher, who began his stint at the Department of Defense as part of Elon Musk’s Government Efficiency team and was promoted in April, exited the department on Saturday, according to CBS News. His departure follows a string of controversies that put him under scrutiny, including internal clashes and explosive leak-related claims.
Though Fulcher insists his exit was planned and “perfectly amicable,” sources tell a more turbulent story.
“Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Department of Defense has been incredibly inspiring,” Fulcher said in a statement, maintaining he only intended to serve for six months.
