Elon Musk Blows Major Hole in Trump’s Epstein ‘Hoax’ Theory

Elon Musk unleashed a furious wave of posts on Wednesday afternoon, publicly rebuking President Donald Trump for calling the so-called “Epstein Files” a fabrication engineered by the left.

Musk, who not long ago was considered one of Trump’s closest allies before their highly public fallout, fired back by pointing to a hard fact: Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, is still serving time in federal prison for sex trafficking young girls for the disgraced financier.

“Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a hoax,” Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter), openly mocking Trump’s characterization of the scandal.

Just minutes later, Musk escalated his criticism:

“Not a single Epstein client has been prosecuted. Not even one.”

Musk, 54, posted about Epstein at least 13 times in barely an hour, repeatedly targeting Trump and the administration’s alleged mishandling of Epstein-related revelations. He also shared and endorsed comments critical of the president’s shifting narrative around the case.

“So many powerful people want that list suppressed,” Musk wrote in response to one user, referring to the long-speculated “client list” of Epstein’s wealthy and influential associates.

Earlier this year, former Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed the Epstein client list was “on her desk,” awaiting review. But weeks later, the Trump administration officially stated that no such list existed, further fueling suspicion and backlash—particularly from Trump’s own base.

Musk has previously accused Trump of deliberately burying the Epstein files, alleging in a now-deleted post that the president was named in them.

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted in June. “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Though Musk later walked back that claim under pressure, interest in the story surged again last week when a leaked Department of Justice memo confirmed that no official client list was maintained—raising new questions about transparency.

The controversy has split MAGA loyalists. Some of Trump’s fiercest supporters, including conspiracy firebrand Alex Jones, turned on him after the Epstein denial. Jones even called the situation a “trainwreck,” while others posted videos burning their red MAGA hats in protest.

Musk’s persistence in hammering Trump over the Epstein affair is reshaping the narrative online. Though he has hinted at forming a new political party, Musk’s motivations remain unclear. What is clear is his unwillingness to let the matter fade.

Responding to a viral critique of Trump’s “blame-the-left” strategy, Musk echoed an old intelligence agency mantra:

“The old: 1. Admit nothing. 2. Deny everything. 3. Make counterclaims.
But it won’t work this time.”

As pressure builds on Trump to address his historical ties to Epstein—including their many public appearances in the ‘90s and early 2000s—the political fallout is far from over.

Whether Musk is settling scores or leading a crusade for accountability, one thing is certain: the Epstein files are back in the spotlight—and the world’s richest man is holding the flashlight.
