A Louisiana woman is facing a long list of criminal charges after allegedly attacking her granddaughter during a dispute over methamphetamine and being found in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs and weapons.
62-year-old Margo Lynn Pattum was arrested by the Jennings Police Department and charged with nine counts related to drug possession, including possession of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and various controlled substances in pill form. Authorities also charged her with two counts of possessing a firearm in the presence of narcotics and obstruction of justice.
According to the police report, the situation escalated when Pattum accused her underage granddaughter of stealing her meth. She then allegedly strangled the girl during a violent outburst, prompting police to intervene.
Officers executing a search warrant at Pattum’s residence discovered what they described as a “wide variety of narcotics” and seized three firearms, one of which had previously been reported stolen. During a personal search, Pattum was also found to have crack cocaine hidden in a container on her person.
But the alleged criminal behavior didn’t stop there. While being transported to jail, Pattum attempted to discard another container filled with suspected crack cocaine by dropping it behind the seat of the police transport vehicle, authorities said.
She is currently being held on a $20,000 bond, and police have stated that the investigation remains active, suggesting further charges could follow.
