‘We’re Not Done Yet’ – Couple Diagnosed with Terminal Cancer in the Same Week – Their Message Will Shatter You

In a world where people often feel alone in their battles, Kevin and Wendy have each other — but now, more than ever, they need the strength of their family and their community to endure the unimaginable.

A GoFundMe campaign set up on their behalf describes them as “the kind of people who give without asking, who love without limits, and who never stop fighting for their family.” That fighting spirit is clear in every word Wendy speaks.

“To be honest, it’s my kids,” she said, when asked what keeps her going. “I’m not done seeing them grow. I’m not done seeing them graduate high school, or continue the legacy of us.”

She added, “That’s my strength — showing them that no matter what you’re faced with, you have to meet it head-on and do the best you can. And if you can’t… you’re going to go down fighting.”

Their youngest daughter, Savannah, echoed that sentiment with heartbreaking clarity. “My parents need everything that they can get right now,” she said. “Anything can turn bad quickly. No matter what you have going on, always check on your family and your loved ones.”

Despite the crushing diagnoses, both Kevin and Wendy continue to work. As their GoFundMe describes it, they are “still showing up,” still trying to keep their lives as stable as possible “while the ground beneath them keeps shifting.”

Determined to turn their pain into purpose, the Wilsons are now documenting their shared cancer journey on TikTok via the account @ourcancerbattle — offering raw honesty, strength, and perhaps a bit of hope to others walking a similar path.

“We’re doing a little video diary type thing for our family and anybody to bring awareness and let everybody know how we’re doing along the way,” Wendy explained in their first TikTok post.

Then, with the kind of candid humor that only the truly strong can offer in the face of devastation, she added:
“Cancer sucks. If you ever come to Millbrook, Alabama, don’t drink the Kool-Aid — ‘cause there’s gotta be something in the water.”

Their story is a heartbreaking reminder of how life can shift in an instant — but also a powerful testament to love, grit, and the will to keep fighting for what matters most.
