Trump Says Iran Will Be ‘Blown Off the Face of the Earth’ if They Fire on US Boats in Strait of Hormuz

In a move that dramatically escalates the high-stakes maritime standoff in the Middle East, President Donald Trump issued a blistering ultimatum to the Iranian regime Monday, warning that any attempt to strike American vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would result in the nation being “blown off the face of the earth.”

The commander in chief’s remarks came during a 20-minute sit-down with Fox News’ chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst. The discussion centered on Project Freedom, the administration’s aggressive strategic initiative designed to break Tehran’s historical stranglehold on the world’s most vital energy artery.

A “Malleable” Adversary?

Despite the bellicose rhetoric, Trump suggested that the tightening economic and military vice is beginning to yield results at the diplomatic table. He characterized the Iranian leadership as “much more malleable” regarding potential negotiations than in previous months, attributing this shift to a refurbished American arsenal.

“We have more weapons and ammunition at a much higher grade than we had before,” Trump told Yingst, pivotally framing the current U.S.-led blockade as “one of the greatest military maneuvers ever done.”

Skirmishes in the Strait

The President also used the platform to provide a tactical update on the friction points within the waterway. According to Trump, U.S. forces have already neutralized seven Iranian vessels—which he dismissively referred to as “small boats” or “fast boats”—noting that such craft represent the bulk of what remains of Tehran’s naval reach.

However, the maritime tension has already ensnared neutral parties. Trump highlighted a recent strike against a South Korean cargo ship, a move he used to pivot toward a demand for increased international participation in the blockade.

“Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission!” Trump posted via social media, as reported by Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan.

The Tactical Outlook

While the President maintained that, aside from the South Korean incident, no significant damage has been sustained by traffic navigating the Strait, the administration is preparing to detail the next phase of the operation.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine are scheduled to hold a joint press conference Tuesday morning. The briefing is expected to provide further clarity on the Rules of Engagement (ROE) under Project Freedom and address the logistics of the ongoing blockade that has brought the region to the brink of a total kinetic shift.

Adding further volatility to an already combustible situation, Dan Lamothe of the Washington Post reported Monday that Iranian forces have officially engaged U.S. assets.

In a briefing with reporters, Admiral Brad Cooper of U.S. Central Command confirmed that Iran opened fire on both American warships and commercial vessels earlier today. While Cooper confirmed that U.S. forces responded with lethal force—successfully destroying several Iranian small boats—he notably declined to declare whether the standing ceasefire between the two nations had officially collapsed.

Escalation by the Numbers

The kinetic exchange follows the strategic deployment of U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers into the Arabian Gulf. These assets, having recently transited the Strait of Hormuz, are the vanguard of the administration’s “Project Freedom” initiative.

In a formal declaration, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) clarified the mission’s objective:

“American forces are actively assisting efforts to restore transit for commercial shipping.”

The sheer scale of the operation was underscored by a CENTCOM news release issued Sunday, detailing a massive mobilization of military hardware and personnel. The mission is currently supported by:

  • Destroyers: Multiple guided-missile platforms.

  • Aviation: Over 100 aircraft and an array of surveillance and strike drones.

  • Personnel: 15,000 U.S. service members deployed to the theater.

As the smoke clears from Monday’s skirmish, the presence of such a formidable force suggests that while the White House talks of “malleability,” the Pentagon is fully prepared for a sustained maritime conflict.
