Far-right firebrand Alex Jones launched into a tirade against President Donald Trump on Tuesday, accusing him of betrayal and “the biggest trainwreck” of his political career after Trump dismissed his supporters’ growing outrage over the Jeffrey Epstein files.
In a blistering video posted to X (formerly Twitter), the InfoWars host slammed Trump’s shifting stance on Epstein, following the president’s latest comments suggesting that “only pretty bad people” are still interested in the long-dead sex offender.
“Why the hell are you acting like this? Please stop now,” Jones pleaded in the video. “You couldn’t be doing a worse thing to yourself and America right now.”
The outburst came after Trump brushed off questions about Epstein’s connections, telling reporters:
“He’s been dead a long time. He was never a big factor in life. I don’t understand what the interest or fascination is. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going.”
That comment sent Jones—and much of MAGA world—into a fury.
“We built the movement you rode in on,” Jones snapped. “You’re not the movement—you just surfed in on it.”
Trump’s mixed messaging on Epstein has been escalating for weeks. Last week, he told supporters not to “waste time and energy” on a man “nobody cares about.” Then, on Tuesday morning, he shifted again, saying Attorney General Pam Bondi should release “whatever she thinks is credible.” But by evening, he had dismissed the files entirely as “boring stuff.”
Jones called it a “nightmare,” posting:
“HUGE NIGHTMARE DEVELOPMENT: Trump doubles down on Epstein cover-up after saying he supported a new DOJ investigation earlier today. Why is 47 making the worst moves of his tenure in the last 9 years? This is beyond f—ed up!!”
The joint DOJ-FBI memo that concluded no further disclosure was “warranted” has only intensified conspiracy theories within the MAGA base, who believe the Epstein files may contain explosive information implicating elite figures like Bill Clinton and Bill Gates. Trump himself has been accused of once being close with Epstein—an association he now downplays.
Jones, still facing the fallout of being found liable for defamation over Sandy Hook lies, warned Trump that ignoring the base’s demands for transparency would only spark more suspicion and backlash.
“You’re creating a Streisand Effect,” Jones warned, referencing the phenomenon where trying to suppress information only draws more attention to it.
Despite Trump’s dismissal, many in MAGA media—including Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and Marjorie Taylor Greene—have joined Jones in demanding full release of the Epstein files. Speaker Mike Johnson has also called for “transparency,” deepening the rift within the movement.
As Trump barrels toward the 2024 election, cracks in his base are growing louder—and Alex Jones just made it clear: they won’t stay quiet.
