A Georgia community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 15-year-old Aleia Kuhn, who tragically died in an accident outside her church on the evening of Wednesday, June 18, just weeks before her 16th birthday.
The incident occurred shortly after Aleia had attended her youth group meeting at Philippi Baptist Church in Henry County, according to local outlets 11Alive, Savannah Morning News, and WCNC Charlotte. While the precise circumstances surrounding the accident have not been publicly released, 11Alive’s Kaitlyn Ross reported that authorities have stated it was “no one’s fault.”
The Henry County Police Department has not yet issued an official statement. Aleia’s sudden passing has sent shockwaves through her family, friends, and church community, with many struggling to process the devastating loss of a young life described as vibrant, faithful, and full of promise.
In a deeply emotional tribute posted to Facebook, Aleia’s mother, Amanda Schroeder-Kuhn, shared her anguish in the wake of her daughter’s death. “My sweetest baby girl is now my forever angel,” Amanda wrote. “Please continue to pray for Christopher Kuhn and me as we have to do what no parent ever should have to. Also, remember Corben and Colter,” she added, referencing Aleia’s brothers.
Amanda described Aleia as more than just a daughter — she was a confidant, a source of strength, and the very core of her being. “Aleia was my backbone and my heart,” she continued. “She was too good for this earth, but I’m too selfish to not want her back. She was mine, and I wasn’t ready.”
In a heart-wrenching reflection on her daughter’s deep Christian faith, Amanda wrote, “She showed her love for Jesus every day to everyone. But I wasn’t ready for Him to want her back already.”
