On this glorious Fourth of July, as fireworks illuminate the skies and families gather in celebration across this great land, we pause not only to enjoy the traditions we hold dear—but to reflect deeply on what makes the United States of America the most exceptional nation in the history of the world.
The stars are shining above us, the stripes are waving proudly, and the greatest symbol of liberty ever created—the Red, White, and Blue—stands tall over a nation built on courage, sacrifice, faith, and unyielding determination.
This is more than a holiday. It is a moment of national remembrance and rededication. We mark the anniversary of a radical idea—that ordinary people, united by a love of liberty, could defy a king, build a republic, and chart a new course for humanity. We honor the bravery of those 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, who risked everything—life, fortune, and sacred honor—so that we might live free.
We also honor those who carried that vision through generations of war, struggle, and sacrifice. From the frozen fields of Valley Forge to the beaches of Normandy, from the Korean Peninsula to the sands of the Middle East, American men and women in uniform have stood on the front lines of liberty, defending our freedom with valor and pride.
As my friend Lee Greenwood so powerfully reminds us:
“And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.”
Today, we remember them. We salute them. And we thank them—not just with our words, but with our actions and our commitment to keep the flame of liberty burning for generations to come.
But patriotism is not just about remembrance—it is also about resolve. It is about the work we do every day to strengthen this nation from the inside out. It’s about freedom not only in word, but in action: the freedom to speak, to worship, to build, to dream, and to rise.
We celebrate the American people—men and women of every race, creed, and background—who built this nation with their own hands. From the family farm to the factory floor, from the small-town diner to the towering skyline, from the tech startup to the truck driver, this country was built by hard work, not handouts; by faith, not fear.
And let us not forget the power of free-market capitalism, the great engine of American prosperity. Our Founders fought not just for political independence—but for economic liberty. They envisioned a land where the government served the people, not ruled them. Where citizens could pursue happiness, own property, and reap the fruits of their own labor.
Today, under President Donald J. Trump, we have seen that vision rekindled:
Lower taxes for working families and small businesses
Energy independence, freeing us from foreign reliance
Explosive job growth across sectors and states
Rising wages for workers of all backgrounds
A booming stock market that rewards innovation and investment
American manufacturing and industry revitalized
A renewed belief in what America can achieve when government steps aside and the people rise up
This is not just an economic revival—it is a revival of spirit. The American Dream is alive and well, not in spite of our challenges, but because of our refusal to be defined by them.
We’ve been reminded by President Ronald Reagan that:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on…”
And President Trump made it clear when he said:
“America is a land of heroes. And America is the home of the brave because of the brave.”
Today, as we light fireworks and cheer beneath the open sky, let us not forget those who won’t be home with their families: our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who stand watch on foreign soil so we may sleep safely in our beds. Let us honor our police officers, firefighters, and paramedics—our first responders—who patrol our neighborhoods, rush into danger, and ensure that our celebrations remain safe and secure.
Their sacrifice, their dedication, and their love of country are the backbone of American liberty.
And so, on this Fourth of July, let us do more than simply celebrate. Let us recommit—to our founding ideals, to one another, and to the hard but noble task of defending and preserving freedom in our time.
Let us stand proudly for our flag.
Let us speak boldly for truth.
Let us teach our children not only the privileges of citizenship—but the responsibilities that come with it.
Let us never apologize for loving this country with all our hearts. And let us never forget that our best days are not behind us—they are ahead of us.
God bless our Founders, who gave us this great inheritance.
God bless our military, who protect it still.
And God bless the United States of America—today and always.
From my family to yours:
Have a joyful, safe, and deeply patriotic Independence Day.
Let the burgers sizzle, let the flags fly, and let freedom ring across this land—because in the land of liberty and opportunity… the best is yet to come.
