Israeli Troops Kill 32 People At U.S.-Backed Distribution Hubs

Despite mounting casualties, the GHF claims there were “no incidents” at or near its aid sites during the time of the reported shootings and blamed Hamas for creating panic at a distribution center earlier this week, where 20 people died in a stampede. The group, however, provided no evidence to support that claim.

In a statement, GHF said the reported shootings occurred “hours before” its centers opened and reiterated warnings it had issued against approaching the sites during overnight hours. The Israeli military echoed the timeline, admitting only to firing “warning shots” at a group of individuals near Rafah, and said it was investigating reports of casualties.

GHF employs private armed security and operates outside the traditional UN-run aid system, which Israel and the U.S. have accused — without clear proof — of being infiltrated by Hamas. The UN has strongly denied these allegations.

Brutal Airstrikes and Mounting Death Toll
As Gaza reels from growing starvation, violence continues to escalate. In Gaza City, two Palestinians were killed when an airstrike hit a makeshift tent sheltering displaced families. In central Gaza, a separate Israeli strike killed nine people — including two children and five women — all members of the same family.

Among the dead was Omar Aqel, a senior local police official. Hospitals overwhelmed by casualties are running out of supplies. “The situation is tragic,” said Dr. Mohamed Saker of Nasser Hospital. “Most victims arrive with bullet wounds to the head and chest. We don’t have what we need to treat them.”

The Gaza Health Ministry reports that over 58,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began in October 2023, with more than half being women and children. While Israel claims it targets “terror infrastructure,” humanitarian groups say entire neighborhoods have been leveled and nearly all of Gaza’s 2 million residents displaced.

A Humanitarian Disaster Unfolding
Gaza is on the brink of famine. Desperate crowds rush the GHF distribution sites, where chaotic scenes unfold daily. Videos reviewed by the Associated Press show private security forces firing tear gas and stun grenades to control the masses. In some clips, gunfire is clearly audible.

What began as a U.S.- and Israeli-backed effort to bypass UN channels has instead triggered a fresh wave of anger, chaos, and death. The promise of streamlined aid has been undermined by violence and poor oversight.

West Bank in Flames: Church Burned, Ambassador Reacts
Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned an arson attack on a Palestinian Christian church. Standing outside the scorched Church of St. George, Huckabee called the attack “an act of terror.”

“I stand with the Christian community here,” he said. “Desecrating a place of worship is unforgivable.”

Since the war began, settler violence has surged across the West Bank. Palestinian communities accuse Israeli security forces of turning a blind eye — few attackers have faced any consequences.

No End in Sight
As international ceasefire talks in Qatar stall with no breakthrough, Gaza’s humanitarian disaster deepens. With daily death tolls mounting, famine looming, and little aid reaching those in need, hope remains in short supply.

The scenes unfolding at Gaza’s food lines are no longer just about hunger. They’ve become symbols of something far more haunting: a system failing the most vulnerable, and a world watching in silence.
