Captured on a neighbor’s security camera, the chilling footage shows Carcamo-Perdomo in a bear-hug grip, dragging the woman across a yard as she kicks, screams, and pleads for help. A dog barks in the background while she tries to break free, but fails.
“She tried to run, but he carried her back inside — without her consent,” a Harris County judge said in court. “He tied her up and s-xually assaulted her.”
Authorities say the woman traveled from New York to Houston, lured by the promise of a better-paying job as a masseuse. But instead of opportunity, she was met with horror: her passport confiscated, locked inside a closet without food or water, and held hostage.
After five days in captivity, she managed to break free — but only briefly. As she ran for her life, Carcamo-Perdomo caught her outside. A concerned neighbor witnessed the chase and called 911, fearing it was a child abduction.
“I saw him grab her and run her inside,” the neighbor told ABC 7. “It was terrifying.”
When police stormed the trailer on Elderberry Lane near Beltway 8, they found her hands tied and the closet door barricaded with a wooden plank screwed into the frame.
“She had some type of sock or cloth binding her wrists,” said Lt. John Klafka from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “She was being held in horrifying conditions.”
Despite the evidence, Carcamo-Perdomo denied knowing the woman at all. “He claimed he didn’t see her, didn’t know her, had no idea who she was,” Klafka said, calling the claims “absurd.”
Carcamo-Perdomo reportedly entered the U.S. illegally in 2020 and was issued a notice to appear after a traffic stop — but in 2023, an immigration judge dismissed the case.
Now, Homeland Security officials believe the crime may be part of a larger human trafficking ring. “He didn’t bring her from New York, and he wasn’t the one who moved her around Houston,” said Klafka. “Others are involved — and we intend to find them.”
In a statement, DHS slammed the system that allowed Carcamo-Perdomo to stay in the country. “This heinous criminal illegal alien was freely roaming our interior and terrorizing American communities,” they said. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is working around the clock to remove these monsters. Law and order will prevail.”
The woman, now safe, is recovering with medical and psychological care at an undisclosed location. She is reportedly traumatized, having endured torture in a foreign land with no family or support.
“This woman had no one,” Klafka said. “She was trafficked, isolated, and assaulted — and we owe it to her to find everyone involved in this nightmare.”
Carcamo-Perdomo’s attorney released a statement declaring his client’s innocence, citing due process and the presumption of innocence.
The investigation is ongoing.
