A Florida stepfather is facing serious charges after allegedly punishing his 10-year-old stepdaughter by pressing her hand onto a scorching hot stove — leaving the imprint of the burner coil burned into her skin.
Authorities say 42-year-old Georgy Almony became enraged after the girl pushed her younger brother. In response, he allegedly dragged her into the kitchen and forced her hand onto the hot stovetop, causing severe injuries. According to a police affidavit, her skin peeled off where she was burned.
The incident took place on April 12, 2025, at the family’s home in Biscayne Gardens, while the children’s mother, 36-year-old Milliene Adeclat, was at work.
Despite the girl calling her mom immediately after the attack, investigators say Adeclat did nothing to report the abuse. Instead, she was later arrested and charged with child neglect causing great bodily harm — and even allegedly struck an officer during her arrest, leading to an additional charge of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
The abuse only came to light after the child went to school on Monday and a teacher noticed her injured hand. Police were called, and both adults were arrested. Neither gave useful information during questioning; Almony reportedly refused to speak, while Adeclat denied all allegations.
Almony was charged with aggravated child abuse and released on a $7,500 bond. Adeclat posted $1,500 bond. Both are due back in court on May 14.
