Police have not disclosed where exactly Melina was or who she was with at the time of the abduction.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) explains that Amber Alerts are used only in “the most serious child-abduction cases,” aiming to mobilize communities immediately through a wide range of communication channels — including radio, television, road signs, smartphones, and other digital devices.
In 2025 alone, NCMEC reports that 1,268 children have been safely recovered thanks to coordinated Amber Alert efforts.
Melina was last seen in Lake George, a small, picturesque town nestled in New York’s Adirondack region — about 60 miles north of Albany.
