Teen Girl Described as ‘Too Good for This Earth’ Dies in Accident Outside Her Church Just Weeks Before 16th Birthday

In response to the tragedy, Philippi Baptist Church held a candlelight prayer vigil on the evening of June 20, just two days after the accident, in Aleia’s memory.

“Philippi is hosting this event to honor Aleia and to help her friends move toward healing from very broken hearts,” the church announced in a statement. “All who love Aleia are invited to join.”

According to Aleia’s obituary, she is remembered not only as a beloved daughter and sister, but also as a loyal friend, devoted girlfriend, and a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was described as “a daughter, sister, cousin, best friend, and first love.”

A celebration of life service in her honor is scheduled to be held on June 26, and a memorial fund has been established to help the family with service costs and provide a space for the community to contribute in Aleia’s memory.

A Life Remembered, A Legacy of Love
Aleia is survived by her parents, Amanda Schroeder-Kuhn and Christopher Kuhn, her two brothers, her grandparents and great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, her close friends, and her boyfriend. Her death leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved her.

While her life was far too short, her legacy — one of faith, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her — continues to ripple through the community that now grieves her loss.

In the words of her mother, “She was mine, and I wasn’t ready.”
