‘Craters on the Surface – But What’s Below?’ UN Warns of Unknown Underground Damage After U.S. Strike on Iran

In a dramatic address to the United Nations Security Council, Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirmed that Iran’s most critical nuclear facilities have suffered significant damage following a powerful U.S. airstrike campaign.

Grossi’s update offered the first independent assessment from a global authority after President Donald Trump ordered coordinated strikes on Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz — three key hubs in Iran’s nuclear program.

“Craters are visible at the Fordow site — Iran’s main location for enriching uranium up to 60%,” Grossi revealed.
“This indicates the use by the United States of America of ground-penetrating munitions.”

The UN watchdog said that no one, including the IAEA itself, has yet been able to evaluate the underground damage, but the surface impact strongly suggests deep-targeting weaponry was deployed to disable Fordow’s fortified core.
