President Donald Trump expected to offer ‘last-chance’ proposal to Iran, says Tehran ‘isn’t winning’

The move comes amid escalating conflict in the Middle East, as Israeli airstrikes continue to devastate Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and military installations. Trump, speaking from Canada where he is attending the G7 Summit, said that Iran had reached out to his administration in an effort to halt the strikes.

“It looks like Iran isn’t winning this war. They need to talk before it’s too late,” Trump told reporters.

Officials noted that the proposal Trump plans to present may be slightly more generous than a previous offer submitted to Tehran earlier this month, though key terms are likely to remain focused on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Despite international calls for a unified response, Trump has decided not to sign the G7 joint statement, which was expected to urge both Israel and Iran to de-escalate. The White House confirmed that the president remains committed to a strong U.S. posture in global diplomacy.

“Under the strong leadership of President Trump, the United States is back to leading the effort to restore peace around the world,” a White House official told Fox News. “President Trump will continue working to ensure Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.”

Trump has urged both nations to pursue a diplomatic resolution, but he has also consistently defended Israel’s right to strike military targets threatening its security.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a separate press conference, said recent operations had pushed back Iran’s nuclear ambitions by a “very, very long time.” While Netanyahu stated he wasn’t seeking regime change in Tehran, he acknowledged that the Iranian government could collapse as a consequence of the ongoing military campaign.

“The regime is very weak,” Netanyahu said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it fell.”

Netanyahu also confirmed that he has been in direct communication with President Trump throughout the unfolding crisis. The coordinated messaging between Washington and Jerusalem signals a continued strategic alliance as both leaders navigate the high-stakes confrontation with Iran.
