Walmart forced to respond after heiress releases full-page ad against Trump

Walton, considered one of the wealthiest women in the U.S., used the ad to declare “NO KINGS,” a slogan associated with the No Kings organization, which is organizing nationwide demonstrations opposing the Trump administration’s policies. The ad coincides with the timing of Trump’s highly anticipated military parade scheduled for this weekend.

According to Andrew Cook, a spokesman for No Kings, more than 1,800 separate protest events are planned across the country, highlighting widespread grassroots opposition to the current administration’s agenda.

While Walton’s advertisement refrains from mentioning Trump by name, it resonates with themes common in liberal critiques of his presidency. The ad emphasizes American values, stating: “We are a people of principle and honor. We honor our commitments and stand by our allies. We defend against aggression by dictators. We uphold and defend the Constitution.”

The message continues with appeals to civic responsibility and international cooperation: “We care for our children and veterans. We respect our neighbors and trading partners. We support a healthy national and international economy, community, and environment. We are the world leader trusted to uphold the stability of the rule of law.”

The ad concludes with a resounding affirmation of democratic principles: “We are the people of the United States of America. The honor, dignity, and integrity of our country are not for sale. Our government is of the people, by the people, for the people.”

Following the publication of the ad, a spokesperson for Christy Walton issued a statement to Fox News Digital to clarify her intentions: “The personal ad message from Christy Walton published Sunday, June 8, focuses on encouraging people to engage peacefully and civically in next weekend’s events on June 14th. It is unrelated to the events we have seen unfold over the past several days.”

The spokesperson further emphasized that Walton had provided no funding to any groups involved in recent demonstrations in Los Angeles or in any other cities. “Her interest is simply in encouraging people to listen to one another, participate in their communities, and productively engage on the issues they care about. She believes that while we have the right to protest, we do not have a right to violence. She condemns violence in all forms and her message promotes civic engagement, peaceful dialogue, and the sharing of diverse views and voices.”

The advertisement arrives at a tense moment for the administration, as anti-ICE demonstrations in Los Angeles have resulted in multiple nights of clashes and property damage. On Tuesday afternoon, protesters gathered once again on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall, following three consecutive days of unrest.

Reacting to Walton’s ad, a White House spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the message appeared tone-deaf and dismissive of the electoral mandate President Trump received in November. “Great, a left-wing billionaire feels like burning some of her inheritance for a PR stunt. It’s not going to change the fact that over 77 million Americans voted for mass deportations, border security, and America First trade policies — a mandate that the Trump administration is committed to using every lever of executive power to deliver on,” the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Walmart, the retail giant closely associated with the Walton family fortune, sought to clearly separate itself from Christy Walton’s activism. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the company said: “We condemn violence, including when it’s directed towards law enforcement, and the damaging of property.”

The statement continued: “As a company with associates and customers in the Los Angeles region, we remain focused on their safety and that of impacted communities. The advertisements from Christy Walton are in no way connected to or endorsed by Walmart. She does not serve on the board or play any role in decision making at Walmart.”

As the country braces for another weekend of political demonstrations and potential clashes, Walton’s ad has added fuel to the already simmering tensions surrounding Trump’s military parade — and thrust a member of America’s wealthiest families into an unexpectedly public political firestorm.
