SCOTUS Greenlights Trump Plans For ‘Large-Scale’ Firings At Federal Agencies

The U.S. Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump another legal victory on Tuesday, clearing the way for his executive order to dramatically reduce the size of the federal government through sweeping layoffs across multiple agencies.

In an unsigned opinion, the Court overturned a lower court injunction that had blocked Trump’s February 13 directive, which called for “large-scale reductions in force.” The original injunction was issued by Judge Susan Illston, a Clinton appointee in Northern California, who questioned the legality of the executive order despite not having reviewed the actual reorganization plans.
