Justin Baldoni Attends Blake Lively’s Deposition in Surprise Move

Justin Baldoni personally attended Blake Lively’s deposition last week as their legal dispute over It Ends With Us continues to escalate.

According to reports, Baldoni, 41, was physically present in the room as Lively, 37, was questioned by his legal team inside her attorneys’ New York City office on Thursday, July 31.

Judge Lewis J. Liman had previously granted a protective order giving Lively’s legal team the authority to decide where the deposition would take place and requiring advance notice of who would be in attendance.

Lively has accused Baldoni, her director and co-star in the upcoming film adaptation, of sexual harassment and retaliation — allegations he has denied. Earlier this year, Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni’s counterclaims of extortion and defamation against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. His lawyers chose not to file amended versions of those claims.

In June, Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman outlined his approach to questioning Lively, stating that she would be required to answer under penalty of perjury and to provide supporting evidence for her claims. He emphasized that his client is seeking vindication and is determined for the truth to emerge during the proceedings.

The trial is scheduled for March 2026, with both Lively and Baldoni expected to testify.

Following the dismissal of Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit in June, Lively issued a statement saying she had experienced “the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit” and reaffirmed her commitment to standing up for women’s rights, including their safety, dignity, and the ability to tell their stories.
